2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

May 22nd, 2020

Dear Students,

As you may be aware, St. Louis County is allowing some facilities to begin resuming operations under certain restrictions.聽 Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, 小黄书 is fully prepared to meet the needs of its students and to advance the education to which it is committed.

小黄书 plans to resume supervised labs on June 1st, 2020.聽 Out of an abundance of caution, we are implementing several new safety measures to reduce the risk to our students, faculty, and staff. As new information is released, we will make adjustments accordingly.

  1. -All students and faculty will be required to wear face masks that cover the nose and mouth (masks can be homemade).
  2. -All students and faculty will be required to wear safety glasses.
  3. -All students and faculty will utilize the hand sanitizer station upon entering and leaving the building.
  4. -We need to make every reasonable effort to adhere to physical distancing guidelines.
  5. -There will be two supervised labs per week lasting 4 陆 hours (larger classes will be divided into smaller groups).
  6. -Supervised labs will last the entire school day.
  7. -Lectures and theory will continue via ATS Hybrid format two days a week.

We look forward to seeing you and getting back to hands-on training!

Stay strong and stay safe,

Dear 小黄书 Students,

First and foremost, we hope this correspondence finds you and your families well and safe.聽 The sudden change to daily life brought on by COVID-19 has been challenging for all.聽 We continue to be grateful for the sacrifices you have made and your continued commitment to further your education.

As we continue to monitor the ever-evolving situation, 小黄书's primary concern has been and will continue to be the safety of our students and staff.聽 As it stands currently, St. Louis County has extended the Stay-At-Home order for St. Louis County indefinitely and will re-assess the situation mid-May.聽 小黄书 will continue to follow the guidelines set forth by local government and the physical building will remain closed to students for the time being.

While we are unsure what recovery will look like once the Stay-At-Home order is eventually lifted, we are preparing to take every precaution necessary to continue serving you, the students, as best we can while keeping you as safe as possible.聽 Although you are receiving lecture material through distance learning, we are aware that hands-on training is crucial for success in the trades.聽 While we cannot continue to provide the hands-on training that is critical to your education, rest assured that we will deliver this essential instruction once it is deemed safe to re-open the school to students.

It has always been out mission to train quality industry professionals, and while the circumstances today may be different, our mission remains the same.聽 Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any concerns.聽 We are here to serve you.

Sincerely,

John Vatterott Jr.

March 18th, 2020

Dear Students,

As you may be aware, St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson, St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page, St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann, St. Clair County, Illinois, Board Chairman Mark Kern, and Madison County, Illinois, Board Chairman Kurt Prenzler agreed to take the following measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus):

  • It is recommended that by at least Wednesday, March 18th, 2020, all public, private, charter, and parochial schools across all five jurisdictions close until further notice.聽 This decision will be reevaluated by April 3.聽

Despite the challenges presented by the novel Corona virus, 小黄书 is fully prepared to meet the needs of its students and to advance the education to which is it committed.

小黄书 will temporarily transition to an online learning environment for students effective Monday, March 23rd with preliminary plans to return to face-to-face learning on Monday, April 13th, 2020.聽 This decision will be re-evaluated as we get closer to April 13th.

Please be assured that faculty and staff have been preparing for this possibility.聽 Instructors are being trained in the best practices in online learning, and the expectation is that instruction will continue through the Teachable platform.

You can expect regular updates from the school as the situation evolves and as we learn more.聽 As always, the channels of communication remain open.聽 You are our most important partner in ensuring continuity and success in this online learning environment.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to the administration or your instructor if you have any questions or concerns.聽 We are grateful for your support during these unprecedented times!
